Middle of August and I can already see the Autumn colours showing in the landscape around us. The trees are slowly shifting their usual green and soon they will be skirted by pools of autumn gold and rust coloured leaves. This only makes me think about time and how quickly the summer is coming to an end. I can’t wait for the next two weeks to pass so we can embrace the sun and the sand of the Italian coast and finally have a proper summer vacation. Time to pack our bags soon cause we are going to Italy!
The main reason for going, actually, isn’t the vacation itself but the photography workshop I’m attending. It’s in the countryside of Marche at a very short distance to the beach with two of the most talented ladies I’ve seen. Their words and their vision come out in the most pure form of art. They are such a huge inspiration and I can’t wait to meet them so we can chat and create beautiful things together. Thank you, Valentina and Zaira for being hosts to that exciting adventure. I am already in heightened state of anticipation about the trip.
Below you’ll find the recipe for these delicious pancakes I made on Thursday. You know, cause Mr D. is usually working on Saturdays and it’s not the usual day most of you have so we get to share special breakfast on a week day. They’re so yummy and fluffy and delicate, like a silk in touch. Topped with our very favourite summer berries and date nectar. Feel free to choose any topping of your choosing and, may be, why not a savoury one.
Now, I will let you enjoy your breakfast and your weekend while my mind just drift away with thoughts about the perfect week we had. One of the days we enjoyed a picnic in the park, sharing laughter and love, while the woods beyond the field, full of tall trees topped with vibrant green leaves were casting dancing shadows on the grass. And as hot as it was that day, it’s getting chilly now. Nothing more I would enjoy more now than a hot cup of tea with a subtle sweet taste of honey.
